A day trip in an ancient town in China. A journey to the past through a town with narrow streets and alleys embraced by nature. A small town where no cars run through its streets. But even being small, Huangyao is filled of visitors who come to admire its landscapes every year. At the beginning of the year, Dr. Donna Lee Bowen, one of my former professors at BYU, asked me if I could send her some pictures to include in a new version of a book she is editing called Everyday Life in the Muslim Middle East. I sent her some. These are images of people taken in some popular places in Egypt before the Revolution.
Yangshuo is a small town surrounded by karsts in the southern province of Guangxi, China. In this post I share some night and day pictures I took there, but this is just a brief visual account, there are many more opportunities for photography in the actual town and its countryside.
This time I share with you some more pictures of my last trip to a place featuring two peaks with two millennial towers. The best of this trip was being able to enjoy the sunrise light meandering through the hills and give some light to these twin peaks.
Shuangta Shan is a small hill featuring two rock formations in the northeast of China. On the top of these peaks you can see two old towers built more than 900 years ago.
The Red Beach is literally a place dressed up in red. The grass is red and it is located in the northeast of China. In this first trip I did over there, I was able to take some pictures of the red grass that covers the soil and attracts many visitors each year.

It is common that I see people in China selling fruits and vegetables in hand cars. In one of my trips at night, I walked outside the train station and took a look around and I found this man taking his time in the middle of a nocturnal busy life.
